1st and 2nd year are most difficult in Medical student's life!! They don't know what and when to approach and follow!!
i'll give u brief idea of books which one has to consider.
For Anatomy:
Gross Anatomy 1st year keep B.D Chaurasia plus netter's atlas and for references seek KLM Anatomy.
Gross Anatomy 2nd year Snell's Anatomy and again for references seek KLM!
N.B: for extraordinary bright students (like me :-P) KLM alone would be enough, but don't put too much pressure on urself if you can't do it, most of the good students, i know, followed above mentioned approach.
For Embryo, don't be confused, buy and read only one book i.e Langman's Embryology, its easy, memorizes and clinically co-related!
For Histology go for Wheater's Atlas of Histology, try to make concepts not absolute memorization.
Essence is your review book ;-)
Now you need to consider few points i.e
1) making notes is not helpful, believe me its waste of time, however, you can make additions in your review book.
2) take interest in what you read, don't take it as a burdon or hard job. Learning is fun man!!
3) Anatomy is 70% concepts and 30% memorization, so never panic!
4) revision, revision and revision is da only key to success. make flash cards if you have to but always revise as much as u can.
5) illustrations are memorized easily and hardly forgotten so give considerable time to your Atlas..
6) remember Anatomy is the basis for surgery in final year.. so take it seriously
lemme know if tere are any queries:-)
Final request is to please spread this site among your friends and send me suggestion for improvemen, feel free to comment.
cheers and have Fun while you study ;-)
